{"id":1660,"date":"2019-02-12T17:50:29","date_gmt":"2019-02-13T00:50:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/josephshaub.com\/blog\/?p=1660"},"modified":"2019-02-12T17:54:33","modified_gmt":"2019-02-13T00:54:33","slug":"jigsaw-puzzles-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/josephshaub.com\/blog\/2019\/02\/jigsaw-puzzles-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Jigsaw Puzzles &#8211; Part Deux"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright wp-image-1667\" src=\"http:\/\/josephshaub.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/IMG_1275-e1548203883972-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"193\" height=\"193\" \/>During the holiday season over the last three years, I have begun my own little tradition of putting together a work of great art jigsaw puzzle.\u00a0 The first was Van Gogh&#8217;s Sunflowers.\u00a0 I did it with my daughter and her then-boyfriend and I was going to frame it when we finished and give it to him&#8230;then I lost a piece in transit!\u00a0 That was a bummer, but the puzzle was loads of fun to do.\u00a0 I had these insights (for me) during the puzzle construction process that I had all over again last year when I did Van Gogh&#8217;s Cafe in Arles.\u00a0 (Seen here.)<strong>\u00a0<\/strong> And again this year while I&#8217;m working on a super hard painting by Renoir.\u00a0 Like,<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>I am so grateful for my sense of sight.\u00a0 Doing a puzzle of a great master of art gets me into the fine details of what these guys were doing.\u00a0 What looks on first glance like a blazing yellow awning, upon the closer examination a jigsaw puzzle requires, displays flashes of red or different shades of yellow and white.\u00a0 \u00a0It is a real treat for the eyes.<\/li>\n<li>There are times when I really,\u00a0<em>really<\/em> want a piece to fit.\u00a0 As hard as I will it, there&#8217;s just no fit.\u00a0 And I want to jam the piece in, but know that&#8217;s silly because &#8211; it doesn&#8217;t fit.\u00a0 Move on.\u00a0 Find the piece that fits.
